Hosted by APECS.
As leadership coaches, we often work with highly capable clients who understand their patterns, gain insight and commit to new behaviours — yet still find themselves reacting in familiar ways when pressure rises.
This session introduces Breakthrough Conversations, a practical, embodied and attachment-informed approach to working with these moments. Drawing on Graham Lee’s book Breakthrough Conversations for Coaches, Consultants, and Leaders, we will explore how behavioural change is often state-dependent: when clients are emotionally constricted, their access to perspective, choice and relational agility may also become constrained.
Graham Lee, Sarah Leach and Susannah Randall will introduce some of the core principles of Breakthrough Conversations and offer participants a live experience of attending to emotional states, embodied awareness and relational needs in leadership coaching.
The session will be practical, reflective and interactive, and will be relevant to coaches interested in working more skilfully with emotional blocks, pressure, resistance and the gap between insight and action.
