  • 40% of senior managers and leaders report themselves as “Struggling”, “Languishing” or “Unwell” and only 10% say they are “Thriving”. (Source: GLWSWELLBEING.COM)
  • The percentage of leaders who report “Very Low” work-related wellbeing and are therefore categorised as “Unwell” has worsened by 33% since 2016.
  • The proportion of leaders and professionals who say they are “Thriving” has shrunk from 15.5% to 10.9% in the years since the start of the global pandemic.

Managers and leaders are increasingly operating in an environment of Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity (VUCA) whether they work in the private, public or not-for-profit sectors.

“Work Life Balance” seems too simple a phrase to cover what they are experiencing and the sorts of issues they are raising in coaching sessions. Often, they don’t have the opportunity to limit their working hours, take time out or increase their delegation to already stretched and stressed staff.

In this TCD webinar on  Wednesday 22nd January at 12:30 – 13:30 experienced leadership coach Gary Storer will help us understand the research done into this area by organisations like GLWS and others and discuss some of the drivers and stressors being experienced by managers and leaders.

Gary will be joined by Ollie Smedley. Ollie was a senior Finance Director within Centrica’s subsidiary businesses and is now an executive coach and also Chair of the Board at a Charity. He will speak about his perspectives and experiences of leadership wellbeing.

Gary will also discuss strategies which can be used by coaches to help clients explore and understand their physical and psychological wellbeing and to make positive choices to improve things.

Topics covered will include:

  • Why is leadership wellbeing different from wider workplace wellbeing and what are the unique challenges faced by senior managers and leaders?
  • What are the drivers of leadership wellbeing and what are the factors that contribute to it, both inside and outside work?
  • Why does leadership wellbeing matter and who and what is responsible for it?
  • Ten universal truths about leadership wellbeing
  • The role of the coach in helping leaders and some powerful questions we can ask

The Masterclass will conclude with a Q&A session where you can ask specific questions.
