Hosted by Henley Business School.
More than ever, people are looking for a way to find purpose in their work and lives. One way of connecting with our purpose is to identify and better understand our core values, so we can take purposeful action, feel more motivated and engaged in our work and life, and find a way to thrive and flourish in the face of increasing demands, rapid change and ambiguity.
Focusing on values can reduce anxiety, reduce our physiological responses to stress, reduce the personal impact of the judgements of others, and help us to be more open to information we may find hard to accept. Being disconnected from our values at work can lead to us feeling demotivated, uninspired and de-energised. Not only is this detrimental to our own way of being, but also to the people we live and work with.
It can be difficult to honour our values at times – in this session, we will explore the ways in which you can identify and re-connect with your own values, accept and commit to living a values-based life and move away from the old habits and ways of being that keep us trapped.
