About me

Executive Coach - Cambridge, Oxford & London

I’m a Masters graduate in Organisational Behaviour from Birkbeck College, University of London, with 25 years’ experience in Human Resources and Learning and Development for GlaxoSmithKline and MedImmune/AstraZeneca.

My own experience of being coached lead me to want to become a coach and help others to create the awareness, growth and impact they’re seeking. I’m a firm believer in human potential, and recognised for my ability to create space to discover new thinking, leading to positive change.

People experience successful outcomes, having come to me for coaching for a variety of reasons, but I often work with new managers or leaders taking on increased scope or different responsibilities and technical experts moving into management who feel at a loss as to how do the people stuff! I had this much appreciated quote from a recent coachee of mine which I proudly share here…
“Liz is a top notch coach…..I can't recommend Liz highly enough. If you work with Liz, and engage, you will never look back (except when you need to reflect of course)!”

I coach people through career inflection points and over tricky development edges and in a variety of contexts, such as organisational and personal change, and role expansion.

I attained my Practitioner Diploma in Executive Coaching from the AoEC (Academy of Executive Coaching) in 2018 and now hold Associate Certified Coach status with the ICF (International Coaching Federation). I’m also experienced in, and accredited to administer and interpret the MBTI Step 1 & 2, FIRO-B, Belbin, Hogan, Strengthscope and Key Polarity Indicator™ profiling tools.

People say I am easy to work with and I’m known for my authenticity, encouraging nature, warmth and clarity of purpose. I love coaching, and the power of a coaching relationship. In recent times I’ve been coaching in the C-suite, as well as supporting new managers transition from individual contributor roles into leadership.

If you send me a message, and a day and time we can talk, I can help you decide if coaching is for you and explore your initial intentions for partnering with a coach.

I became interested in working with a coach to help me to deal with certain topics such as developing effective working relationships in difficult or high-pressure situations and understanding who I am as a leader. Liz was recommended for a series of regular coaching sessions through many colleagues who had successfully worked with her in the past. I instantly warmed to Liz and found her a very efficient and calm coach who has an amazing ability in making you bring the answers to the situation without much input. Liz is clearly a very experienced coach who makes you quickly see the solution to the situation. Three years later I still use many of the techniques we developed in our sessions and feel a lot more confident in my overall approach and work life in general. Robert R.

Liz worked with me to address my sense of imposter syndrome at work, to build my confidence in my abilities, and to ultimately help me step out more in the workplace. As an introvert, I often found it uncomfortable to speak up in large meetings; this discomfort was compounded by my sense of imposter syndrome and it was further amplified in the context of Zoom meetings. Liz worked closely with me and asked insightful questions to help me work out why I felt a sense of unease within these situations; our discussions and exercises involving the Key Polarity Indicator were particularly interesting and insightful. She also tailored my coaching exercises to suit my personality and preferences, in order to bring me insight into situations. I found the challenge-and-reflection exercises particularly helpful because I had to step out of my comfort zone to implement those challenges, and the reflection led to rich learning about how I and my colleagues responded to my steps out. Over the period of our 6 months working together, I grew in confidence greatly and overcame my sense of imposter syndrome; in fact, I subsequently applied for a promotion into management shortly after our time working together and I got the job! Associate Director.
