Vast differences exist between the perceptions and lived experiences of work and learning from one generation to another. As Gen Z continues to enter and reshape the workforce, organisations are facing increasing challenges – and opportunities – in adapting to new expectations around purpose, flexibility, and digital fluency.

This interactive event, hosted by Dalton Leong CMgr CCMI, Chair of the CMI South East Board, brings together multiple perspectives to explore how workplaces can better understand and support the next generation. Rebekah Patterson FCMgr, Board Secretary and experienced senior leader, will offer insights into the shifting dynamic between generations and how organisations can respond.

Together, explore the tensions around returning to the office, redefining career progression, and navigating workplace conventions such as dress codes and hierarchy. This session is designed to surface real experiences and spark meaningful conversation; helping employers and employees alike find common ground, and shared solutions and adaptations for continuous improvement.

By attending this event, you will:

  • Hear diverse perspectives on the generational gap in the workplace and its real-world impact
  • Understand what Gen Z values most in work, leadership, and career development
  • Gain insights into challenges and pushbacks around traditional work models and how to navigate them
  • Explore actionable strategies for building inclusive, multigenerational teams that thrive
  • Learn how to adapt workplace culture to foster engagement, flexibility, and collaboration
