Coaching to Change Lives: Coaching and Trauma

There’s little that is genuinely new in coaching, but every so often an idea comes along which insists on being heard and then implemented.

Frequently in coaching we encounter clients who in a variety of ways sabotage themselves. They may overwork, burn out, sacrifice their own wellbeing to the needs of others, resort to bullying behaviour – the number of ways human beings can do this are infinite. What is going on?

Coaching seems to go nowhere. The reason may be that you are working with the ‘Survival Self’, an idea developed by Professor Franz Ruppert and now interpreted and adapted by psychotherapist and executive coach/coaching supervisions, Julia Vaughan Smith.

Jenny and Julia will be running a one day masterclass with the emphasis on introducing the ideas and offering a variety of practical ways in which coaches can work with them.

This event is for experienced coaches.

Coaches who have attended earlier events have emphasized the insights they gained and immediate applicability of their learning:

If you are an experienced Executive Coach looking to deepen your practice you will want to attend this masterclass. The combination of Julia’s expertise on this subject together with Jenny’s vast experience bringing the theory to life, made for a thought provoking and rich learning experience that has already enhanced my practice.”

“The workshop with Jenny and Julia has completely revitalised and shifted my practice. They are brilliant facilitators.”

“What a great masterclass, it was invaluable to me as a seasoned coach. The learning was enriched by working with a group of distinguished coaches. A day to reflect and refresh that I highly recommend.”

“I wish I had attended a class like this years ago. This thought provoking day opened up new avenues of enquiry, constantly reminding us that we are not diagnosticians yet at the same time recognising that there are things in the ‘there and then’ which play their part in whatever is going on in the ‘here and now’.”

“It is rare to find a training that can so powerfully shift one’s perspective on clients. This programme is a must for any serious coach practitioner.”
