In this TCD Member Only session, executive coach and author Graham Lee introduces a distinctive approach to deep transformation in coaching—one that begins not with insight, but with emotional presence.
Drawing on attachment theory and embodied relational practice, Graham explores how coaches can support clients to bring attention to the moment-by-moment shifts in emotional and bodily experience that lie beneath their challenges. Rather than asking clients to interpret or understand these emotions and sensations too quickly, this approach invites a kind of witnessing—staying close to what is happening in the emotional body without intervening.
Over time, this quiet attentiveness helps clients move through emotional defensiveness, reconnect with their underlying needs, and regain access to a more grounded, whole, and resourceful internal state. It is not analysis that creates the breakthrough—but the quality of presence itself.

Graham Lee is an executive coach, coach supervisor, leadership consultant, and author of Breakthrough Conversations for Coaches, Consultants and Leaders. His work integrates attachment theory, psychotherapy, and neuroscience to support transformative emotional and relational shifts in senior leaders and coaches.
