I view life as a journey. Not just a simple cruise from A to B, but one that meanders and winds, taking different routes, sometimes getting lost, sometimes getting stuck, other times calmly cruising along or hurtling at top speed with exhilaration or fear. We may reach cross-roads and have difficult choices to make. It is an opportunity to experience, to learn, to grow and adapt, to seek out challenges and discover more about oneself and others. My own journey has been varied, challenging and at times exciting. It has had its ups and downs and I have learnt and am still learning a great deal about myself and others. In the end though, I know that it is not about what happens to me that matters, but rather what I choose to do with it.
My coaching philosophy and approach is eclectic. It is based upon empowering my clients and unlocking and unleashing their full potential, so they truly become the best version of themselves. It is about helping my clients understand that within them they have an innate resilience and vast amounts of resources for self-understanding. I seek to help my clients understand that they always have the power to choose no matter what life throws at them. Encouraging authenticity, honesty, integrity, vulnerability and courage I help guide my clients on a path of discovery and self-awareness whilst highlighting their strengths. Drawing on Positive Psychology theories, I also believe that it is fundamental to make an individual’s wellbeing a priority for optimum growth, success and happiness. My philosophy is simple, when we are positive, our brains are more motivated, engaged, creative, energetic, resilient, and productive.
Through powerful coaching conversations, I help my clients to gain a deeper understanding and acknowledgement of their thoughts and the impact that negative thoughts and feelings have on behaviour. How we can replace negative, self-defeating and harmful thoughts with beliefs that support us and allow us to flourish. How change can be so powerful and how one small change can interrupt habits and patterns that may no longer serve us.
As a coach, I aim to meet my clients where they are currently at, recognising that the coaching process is not a one-size fits all proposition. My aim is to help my clients gain greater clarity and derive purpose and meaning from all that they experience, to ultimately lead a more meaningful and fulfilling life.
When I am not working or studying, you can find me outside under the trees! I love walking with my three crazy dogs, running, golf and yoga. I also love reading and writing and have recently created my own blog to unleash my creative side! Passionate about the impact of mental health on our society, I also volunteer for the mental health charity SHOUT.
