About me

Growth-mindset leaders invest time in themselves to learn how to be an example of the change they want to see in others. I help leaders and organisations develop the mindset, behaviours, and skills to succeed in today’s complex and uncertain business environment.

I'm an experienced executive coach, team agility coach, facilitator, and trainer, and my practice is based on a blend of approaches from coaching psychology, experiential learning, continuous improvement, and agile methods.

What makes me different?

With my business experience and comprehensive coach training (MSc in Coaching and Behavioural Change, Henley Business School), I draw on a blend of approaches to adapt to your immediate needs. I bring a systemic perspective into coaching to support leaders and teams in understanding the organisational forces that help or hinder performance. This systems perspective is an important component of a business coach’s practice, however often overlooked in the coaching profession. For organisations, I offer a credible approach to helping leaders in complex organisations to transform themselves and their teams to ‘become agile’.

What is my business background?

A coach, consultant, and trainer for twenty years in private- and public-sector organisations, across industry sectors, my interest in coaching stems from a belief in the capacity of people to learn and grow at any point in life. I have experience working as an external coach in corporate leadership coaching programmes, an agile team coach in technology organisations, and career coaching for professionals in all stages of career change.

Having followed a non-traditional path into software development, I held consulting roles that required me to manage client relationships and influence stakeholders in complex organisations. As a project manager and engagement manager, I was responsible for delivery of enterprise software projects for companies in oil and gas, retail, financial services, consumer products, travel and leisure, insurance, and IT professional services.

I attended a workshop facilitated by Laura which was eye-opening. I liked that the exercises were held very minimalistic, which put the focus on the learning and the experience of the participants. Laura used very few, pointed open questions to facilitate the knowledge exchange after each session. I could tell that she is a very good listener and will put her ego aside to aid the group's learning. I can wholeheartedly recommend Laura as a coach.

I worked with Laura when I was stuck in a rut with my career and didn't know what steps to take in order to make effective changes. Laura came across as very approachable and sincere in wanting to assist me. She encouraged me to try a different approach. She gave me reading material and suggested stepping stones to reach my end goal. After only a few sessions with Laura I had applied for another job. The first time in 6 years! I can honestly say I wouldn't have considered that job if I hadn't had the sessions with Laura. I got the job which was much more suited to my personality and I have been very happy doing it. M.W
