Coaching style:

Coaching usually involves working with people who have achieved a good deal of success in their careers but whose future development requires them to shift perspective to augment their technical competence with perhaps a more strategic vision, or to develop a leadership style that has greater emotional awareness.

Valerie’s style focuses on strengths and key areas of development often using psychometrics to create greater self-awareness, aimed at helping clients reach their full potential. Valerie combines a style that is both supportive and challenging whilst providing a space that allows clients to take responsibility for developing their own goals and actions.

Areas of specialisation:

Executive and leadership coaching
Resilience coaching
Maximising female talent
Transitions coaching
Systemic Team coaching

I've been lucky enough to have worked with Val for over the past 12 months now, and found her to be most helpful to me both personally and professionally. Val was able to use her past experiences and coaching skills to assist in providing me with a 'set of tools' that I could use with my business, people and clients. With each session, I was able to take those learnings and introduce them into my day to day world. R.P.

I have been working with Val as my coach for just over a year now. We completed an initial course of coaching that ended last summer, but given the benefits I experienced we have since extended this and have now commenced a second course of coaching. I find Val to be very easy to talk to and she has a very common sense approach. She is helped me in giving a fresh insight into specific events or challenges that I have shared with her as part of my coaching programme. I would have no hesitation in recommending Val as an executive coach. Mark Finch, Solicitor and General Counsel

I have had the pleasure of having Valerie as my career coach. I learned so much more about myself and became far more self aware. When I met Valerie I was at a junction in my career. I was a successful senior manager with an industry leading UK company being head hunted for senior roles. I was able to have very frank and confidential conversations with Valerie and although she never once told me what to do she provided me with the tools to look deeply into myself, my goals and my ambitions. I am now a senior partner in a firm, completely outside of my previous 21 year industry and sector career. Almost 9 months after making a career change I have visited countries which I had never been to before, met professionals who I would've never meet before and have learnt something new everyday to the point of me learning a new language. The organisation I joined has more than quadrupled in size and has now stepped into operating in Europe. To be able to realise your talents is one thing, however having the courage and determination is another. For me, Valerie helped me harness the inner businessman inside and grasp the opportunities I continue to have in front of me today. AW, Partner - Business and Development Director

I have known Val both as a business leader and as a coach. Val combines these skills in her coaching in a highly effective way. She built a trusting relationship with me and supported me through a number of complex decisions, whilst steadily raising my levels of self-awareness in a way that has had long term impact. Val helped me keep a focus on what was important to me. I valued her flexible style which was both challenging and supportive at different times. I wanted an independent coach, someone who could hold the mirror up when I needed it which Val did in an open and honest way.

I have worked with Val before she joined Trusted Coach. I found her to be a warm, friendly and professional coach. She has loads of coaching experience which is evident when you are coached by her. I gained a lot from every coaching session and gained some real insights. AS
